Indication: Epigastric and abdominal pain with a sensation of cold, aversion to cold, preference for warmth and pressure, absence of thirst, poor appetite, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, chronic bleeding.
Action: Warms the Middle Burner (ZHONG JIAO), tonifies the Spleen and Stomach, dispels Internal Cold. For epigastric and abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhoea due to Spleen Qi and Spleen Yang Deficiency with accumulation of Internal Cold.
Loose, watery stools or diarrhoea with undigested food remnants, abundant clear urination, vomiting of clear fluid, cold hands and feet, bleeding with bright-red blood loss, pale complexion, fatigue, listlessness.
Chronic gastritis, gastric and intestinal ulcers, pylorospasm, nervous vomiting, gastric neurosis, enterocolitis, chronic enteritis, chronic colitis, sensitive intestines, chronic dysentery; functional uterine bleeding, thrombocytopenic purpura.
Tongue & Pulse: Pale tongue with tooth marks and a thin white, slippery and slightly greasy coating. Deep, slow, fine and weak (CHEN-CHI-XI-RUO), also slippery (HUA) at the Spleen position.
