Intro

Professional trinocular darkfield microscope for high-contrast observation of transparent and unstained specimens. The L3800 combines plan-achromatic optics, precise mechanical controls and a trinocular camera port.

Korte omschrijving

Productomschrijving

The Labmics L3800 is a professional trinocular biological microscope for accurate observation and documentation of microscopic specimens. In darkfield microscopy, direct central light is excluded from the image and mainly scattered, refracted or deflected light from the specimen reaches the objective. As a result, fine structures appear bright against a dark background. This contrast method is particularly useful for transparent or unstained specimens that show little contrast under ordinary brightfield illumination.

The L3800 has a 30° inclined trinocular head, 10× plan wide-field eyepieces and plan achromatic objectives. The mechanical stage, coaxial coarse and fine focusing controls and 2 µm fine-focus scale enable accurate positioning and focusing. Via the trinocular port, the image can be directed to a suitable camera for documentation, teaching or research purposes.

The standard L3800 documentation specifies an N.A. 1.25 Abbe condenser. For true darkfield observation, the microscope must be used with the darkfield stop or darkfield condenser appropriate to the darkfield configuration. The exact darkfield component supplied must correspond to the actual delivered set.

Darkfield
- Darkfield makes transparent/unstained structures visible as bright details against a dark background.
- Use the appropriate darkfield stop or darkfield condenser for the desired magnification and numerical aperture.

Camera
- Trinocular port for camera connection.
- Push rod for routing the image to the binocular eyepieces or camera port.

Usage

Place the specimen on the mechanical stage and preferably start with the 4× objective. Adjust the interpupillary distance and dioptre, centre the condenser and adjust the illumination. Use the coarse focus to locate the image and the fine focus for final focusing. Then switch to higher magnifications. Use suitable immersion oil with the 100× objective. For darkfield observation, the darkfield stop or condenser appropriate to the configuration must be positioned and centred correctly.

Indications

For professional microscopic observation and documentation of transparent, unstained or low-contrast specimens in brightfield and, with the correct optical configuration, darkfield.

Contraindications

Professional laboratory instrument. Follow the applicable safety and hygiene protocols when working with biological material. Darkfield images are observations and must not be used as a stand-alone medical diagnosis. Disconnect the power plug before maintenance or replacement of the lamp or fuse. Operating temperature: 5–35 °C; relative humidity: 20–80% at 25 °C. Avoid dust, high humidity and solvents such as xylene. Remove immersion oil after using the 100× objective.
